Overview: BUD helps young children familiarize with the vast world of culinary tastes and activities by putting them in the shoes of a chef in charge of a kitchen simulation. In this simulation-based game children are free to exploit and experiment with all kinds of food ingredients and products as well as be able to recreate many existing recipes or create ones of their own imagination. Any product or recipe stored inside the game memory can be physically tasted with SAMPLERs – miniature spoon-like devices that send certain signals via taste buds. These signals replicate flavors, thus letting the user physically taste the virtual food that is inside the game.
The sequence to follow is: the user selects a certain food product or a recipe and lets the BUD load the information onto one of the SAMPLERs. After the data transfer is complete, the user can pick up a SAMPLER and test the flavor once the device comes into contact with their taste buds.
