Overview: NewspaperWood is manufactured from recycled newspapers each textured ring being not a year of a trees growth but a page of the day’s newspaper.

In 2014 Peugeot Design Lab printed 20,000 newspapers for their Milan Design Week show, at the end of the week the 3 000 remaining newspapers were recycled into a block of NewspaperWood, the waste of the 2014 show thus became a primary material in the creation of the products for the 2015 show.

The Peugeot Design Lab NewspaperWood envelops a rich copper shade that is connected to a sculpted white porcelain prototype lamp.

Year: 2031-2040

Overview: The taut lines and slender profile of the carbon fiber monocoque frame optimize penetration of the air. Also constructed in carbon fiber the wheels, with 80mm deep rims, add to the efficiency of the overall package.

Everything is fully integrated, including all the cables, the brakes and the battery which powers the fully electric gear shifting.

Intelligent design solutions mean that the cyclist can easy find the most efficient riding position, while the gear and brake controls both fall easily to hand. The oval chain rings further enhance the rider’s power transmission.

Cloaked in matt black and highlighted with a rich copper, the bike is a symbol of power and elegance, ready for the battle against the air and time.

Designer: Pierre Gimbergues

Category: Watches

Year: Present – 2020

Overview: The innovative architecture is based around the new Caliber OP 21/1-15 movement that includes a differential gear system and a dial layout which makes use of subtle layering to visually divide each function. The different subdials were inspired by this movement and resemble interconnected clock gears. The tower bridge that overlaps the local time dial provides a unique focal point which dominates the space surrounding the iconic, copper finished differential component.

The watch case has been sculpted with lightness and finesse in mind, subtle surface movements are added to create a lithe and elegant watch design.  Refined materials analogous with high end watchmaking are chosen to provide the finishing touches.
